**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**

Assist senior estimators with rate requests and provide support in terms of administration, estimates and the day-to-day processes in the estimates department. Compile Agent estimates, and other estimates as per capability. To ensure that agent estimates, client estimates, and prospect estimates are accurately done and sent to clients within the required turnaround time.

**DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- **1.Estimates **_
- Compile estimates according to client and agent requirements for all transport modes both imports and exports
- Create links in Cargo Wise when needed for agents, as well as client requests in the event of sales / client services representative needing assistance
- Request landside and freight charges from agents and service providers worldwide
- Ensure that the estimate charges correspond to client rates in Cargo Wise and Forwarding Instructions
- Knowledge and understanding of Incoterms and applicable third-party charges for the various transport modes
- Forward estimate to the relevant senior estimator to quality check
- Once approved to forward onto the relevant agent, sales or client services representative to forward to the client.
- Save approved estimate, in excel/word format and pdf, into EDOCS tab of the relevant link in Cargo Wise
- Save all relevant communication with regards to rates as well as with the agent into EDOCS of the relevant link in Cargo Wise
- Administrative support
- Proposals
- If an estimate is accepted to forward all relevant information onto the correct departments.
- **2.Rates**_
- Communicate buy and sell rates to operations
- Assist sales and client service representatives with monthly rate schedules for clients
- **3. Negotiations of rates with 3rd parties**_
- **4. Follow Up**_
- Follow up on agent estimates within 30 days to see if company was successful with offer
- **5. Query Handling **_
- Attend to any estimate or rate queries
- Communicate any queries and amendments to all parties involved

**Knowledge & Experience**
- Matric or Senior Certification equivalent
- High level of Computer literacy
- Basic knowledge of all transport modes - Air, Ocean & Road
- Good administrative skills
- Sound knowledge of Incoterms 2020
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding & Clearing
