Senior Domain Architect

**Purpose of the Job**

Become part of an innovative, forward-thinking, and strategic IT architecture team. Our mature architecture team is based in Brackenfell (strategically placed close to the sea and the Cape Winelands) and includes experts in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, and data architecture. We operate in an agile retail environment of Africa’s largest retailer that utilizes industry-leading IT technologies that run on-premise and in multiple cloud platforms.

**Job Objectives**
- Consult on the Finance strategy, develop roadmaps and reference architectures, and govern the technology selection in support thereof.
- Serve as the Finance domain architecture and design authority for all project and operational stakeholders, and ensure architecture quality across all solution platforms enabled by customer-facing solutions.
- Provide expert Finance guidance, ensure solution architectures and designs are in line with the Finance strategy and technology standards and conduct architecture and design reviews as part of the Architecture Review Committee.
- Contribute to solution architecture and design standards and SDLC governance requirements.

**Qualifications**

Essential
- Degree in Information Systems / B Sc Computer Science (or similar)

Desirable
- TOGAF certification

**Experience**
- Essential_
- 10-15 years of Working experience within the IT industry.
- 10-15 years of Working experience in SAP with at least 5 project lifecycles
- 5-10 years of An in-depth functional understanding of SAP Retail, SAP Master Data, Pricing, Procure to Pay, and Order to Cash. Inter-module integration and back-office Retail Finance.
- 5 years of Retail industry experience with an understanding of retail business processes.
- 5+ years of Understanding of different methods of SAP integration (ALE/IDOC, enterprise services, MFT, SAP PI, SAP CPI, etc.)
- 5+ years of Experience with all aspects of IT projects from business analysis, architectures, system analysis, and design through development, testing, implementation, and production support (SDLC).
- 5+ years of Excellent design and architecture skills and proven track record delivering well-designed complex enterprise-class systems.
- 3+ years of Excellent technical development and be able to mentor others to improve their design and development skills.
- 5+ years of Identification and formulation of solution architecture and solution alternatives and their assessment.
- 2-3 years of Experience with current research and standards in Solution Architecture.
- Desirable_
- 3+ years of Experience in high-volume data and file processing, in a batch and real-time, integration environment.
- 2-3 years of Project management experience in mid-sized projects.
- 3-5 years of Experience in defining IT Architecture strategies in the Finance domain

**Knowledge and Skills**
- Essential_
- S/W frameworks and methodologies (Agile, TOGAF, etc.)
- Solid track record in successful delivery solution architecture
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical skills
- Excellent team-working, interpersonal skills
- Develop proposals and excellent written communication & presentation skills

- Strong conflict management skills
- Understanding of financial solutions in a non-SAP environment

- Architecture and solution design (UML, OO, SOA, etc.)
- Commercial & business understanding of the retail industry

**Remuneration and Duration**
- Salary range - R1,7 million to R2,1 million
- Permanent

**Salary**: R1,700,000.00 - R2,100,000.00 per year

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brackenfell, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
