ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
- To follow and execute instructions, policies and procedures pertaining to the area of responsibility
- To hold team members accountable, on agreed processes and targets
- Ensure the underwriting pool times are maintained
- Daily, weekly and monthly reporting of team performance - inclusive of problem areas.
- Performance management of team
- Reporting to management of developments within the team
- Identify functions / practices areas that require improvement
- Identify and initiate solutions to challenges in the area of responsibility
- Manage team productivity and discipline - amongst others, time and leave management
- Develop and drive a culture of excellence and discipline
- Provide training and coaching for team members
- Audit and take corrective action, where processes are not accurately followed
- Handle departmental complaints, as and when raised
- Ensure that the performance of the team is of a high standard
- Responsible for training and developing individuals within the team.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION** - (Qualification, Experience, Knowledge & Skill)
- Minimum 2 years experience in Short term Insurance
- Knowledge in short-term insurance underwriting - preferred
- Meet fit and proper requirements. (150 Credits, RE)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
