**Health and Safety Co-Ordinator**

**TEMPORARY Position for 3 Months (Might have opportunity for further contracts)**

**Duties & Responsibilities of Health and Safety Coordinator for the position**:
The final roles and responsibilities will be clarified and defined, but it is envisaged that the key responsibilities will be:

- Driving the implementation of the Health & Safety management system. The support and buy in from all role players are however crucial to ensure the effective implementation of the Health & Safety management system.
- The continual creation, maintenance and updating of the Health & Safety procedures, documents, checklists and risk assessments.
- Contractor control with regards to Health & Safety aspects. This includes the monitoring, evaluation and auditing of the contractor’s safety files coming on site.
- Investigation and reporting of Safety incidents on site and put preventative measures in place and use the incidents as toolbox talks and awareness training to staff.
- Health and Safety meetings
- Health and Safety induction training, toolbox talks and awareness.
- To suggest ‘Improvement to existing Policies and implementation thereof and development of Policies where these do not exist.’
- To maintain all required appointments.
- The selection of appropriate registers, appointment of persons to complete the registers, training of the persons who will complete the registers and the management of findings from the completion of registers.
- To record, maintain and display the safety statistics.
- To propose and assist with development, training and implementation of safe work procedures, lockouts and permits.

**Specifications for Application**:

- MUST have ISO 14001, 9001, 45001 and experience of implementation.
- **Must live in Pietermaritzburg**:

- MUST have own transport
- MUST have own Laptop

**Job Types**: Temporary, Contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
