The purpose of the Inventory Manager is to lead a team of inventory employees to receive and record new stock as its delivered and shipped out. They devise best practices for maintaining balanced inventory records, and keeping track of all company products and supplies.

**Inventory Management**
- Oversees all business and activity relating to inventory control.
- Design and implement an inventory tracking system to optimize inventory control procedures.
- Examine the levels of supplies and raw material to determine shortages.
- Resolve investigations conducted by Inventory Team Leader for any missing stock
- Identify ways to improve efficiency within inventory and support the operation
- Analyze different suppliers to obtain the best cost-effective deals.
- Identify ways to maintain inventory control and reduce theft.

**Stock Takes**
- Plan stock take with relevant information from the Inventory Team Leader.

**System Logs**
- Ensures that product offloaded into the warehouse is received immediately onto the system.
- Ensures that any non-conforming product is isolated, recorded and adjusted off the system immediately.
- Inspects and ensure completed documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Revise existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new technological requirements.

**Staff Supervision**
- Prioritize staff member’s work and deadlines as well as controlling their outputs, scheduling their tasks, approving leave, conducting performance appraisals and responsible for first level of discipline.
- Ensures staff execute processes and procedures compliance as prescribed by the company.

**Health and Safety**

Responsible for the adherence to company safety policies and procedures in area and required to take action to ensure that these standards are met.

**Qualifications**

NQF 5 Supply Chain Management / Logistics Management

NQF 6 Supply Chain Management / Logistics Management

**Experience**

3-4 years as Inventory Manager / Supervisor in FMCG or wholesale industry
