**Job Summary**:
A commodity supplying company is seeking a Buyer whose responsibility is to purchase commodities mainly for government. This is through RFQ responses thus knowledge of the tendering space and RFQs is vital for this role. The role will involve building relationships with manufacturers and negotiating with them for the best price, quantities and ensuring timeous delivery of orders.

Success in this role requires someone who is organised and pays attention to detail with good phone etiquette and robust communication skills.

Knowledge and experience in the supply chain space is an added advantage for someone to

thrive.
- **N:B: Advanced understanding of Microsoft is a must.**_

**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities**:

- Get prices for different RFQs
- Manage the purchase and supply of all procured goods and services
- Successfully manage a large supplier base; negotiating improved supplier terms and pricing
- Manage supplier relationships including quality and supply issues, improving supplier performance and building successful supply chain partnerships
- Identify and assess new supply options for current and upcoming purchasing requirements
- Tracking of orders and communicating with management and clients

**Qualifications**
- A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or Supply chain management a must
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the relevant field

**Core Competencies**
- Fluency in English and Afrikaans
- Microsoft Excel (non-negotiable).

**Job Type**: Full-time.

**Salary**: R5000 per month

Pay: R5 000,00 per month
