**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
The 3PL Operations Manager is responsible for the management of the supplier relationship with the Third party Logistics (3PL) service provider. The 3PL Operations Manager needs to ensure that the 3PLs cold storage inventory is in sync with the McCain inventory system to ensure integrity of the stock on hand, First-Expired-First-Out (FEFO) batch management, stock rotation and customer service levels are maintained.

This includes a strong emphasis on operational execution and accountability, supplier SLA management, supervision and enforcement of McCain Foods SOPs and controls related to warehouse management and dispatch at the 3PL distribution centers (DCs).

This must be done within budgeted storage and distribution costs by managing stock movement and required warehouse capacity to achieve the target customer service levels. Close collaboration is required from the Manager with the 3PL/McCain supply and demand planning teams, the 3PL/McCain load planning and expediting teams to ensure accountability on the execution of On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) deliveries and ensuring customer service levels and are achieved. Weekly SAP system stock Integrity, batch rotation, monthly stock counts and management of blocked/damaged stock at the 3PL DCs must be monitored and maintained at all times.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**:

- **
Manage & Develop subordinates and Global / Regional Compliance;**
- Lead the 3PL suppliers and McCain teams towards meeting the strategy and targets through regular communication and utilization of the full organizational talent management tool set.
- Manage subordinates KPIS and carry out quarterly performance reviews.
- Manage subordinates and 3PL supervisor's daily responsibilities including walkabouts accompanied by 3PL shift supervisors on duty
- Develop supervisory skills and knowledge
- Attend morning meetings at 3PL DC sites to track and monitor SLAs
- **
Manage all Inventory Integrity. Service level Execution and Stock Accuracy;**
- Ensure inbound delivery and stock return procedures are followed based on the supply chain put-away strategy.
- Ensure that all & customer orders are executed according to the load plan and accurate FEFO (First Expired First Out) stock rotation.
- Batch management and stock status (UR/QI/BLK) must be maintained at all times in accordance with QC officers. Ensure that all loads ore dispatched correctly and according to procedure eg quality; quantity, temperature & documentation.
- Trucks must be sealed and recorded at the weighbridge and records validated.
- Ensure that all Chep pallet movement is documented and controlled. CHEP pallet counts must be done monthly and reconciled against the online CHEP portfolio system.
- All damaged / blocked / QC stock must be labelled end placed in quarantine area. Ensure that a high standard of housekeeping in maintained.

Stakeholder Expectations Management (3PL, Commercial, Internal logistics);**
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, ensure alignment with supply chain initiatives, and drive operational efficiencies.
- Drive the achievement of targeted commercial strategy in alignment with McCain Commercial Managers expectations.
- Review supplier contract performance results as per agreed SLA's and communicate performance trends to the supplier.
- Ensure that key stakeholders have up to date knowledge of trends and performance statistics.
- Identify business risks to achieving targets.
- Ensure on time delivery of all reports as per the calendar
- Manage storage capacity and cost to ensure space Is utilized effectively

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**:

- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Commerce.
- Matric or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in supply chain FCMG warehouse inventory control in a plant manufacturing FMCG food industry environment.
- Experience should be in 3PL supplier management with strong focus on operations, inventory and warehouse controls. Customer service delivery and OTIF (On Time in Full)
- Management in stock turns. SLOB (Slow moving obsolesce). Rotation by expiry (FEFO) as well as inventory status stock sync across multiple systems and platforms.
- Auditing and monitoring of supply chain SOP best practice from order lo delivery. Management of damages, customer returns and rejections and quality blocked stock
- High proficiency in ERP systems management preferably SAP with reporting and analytical skills
- Cold storage and cold chain quality experience both transportation and warehousing preferred.
