ECHO Foundation was founded in 1991. It is a registered Section 21 Company, established as a non-profit company. The Foundation houses over 1,500 residents within its villages and frail care facilities.

ECHO Foundation is looking for an Activities Coordinator to join the team.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Compile a monthly programme of activities for Frail Care residents.
- Co-ordinate the activities.
- Present some stimulating activities themselves i.e. crafts, singing, board games.
- Overseeing the movement of residents to the dining room at mealtimes, when on duty.
- Support function of the Nursing Manager.
- Taking part in fundraising for the Frail Care.
- Assist with stock control and stock take.
- Assist with administration as and when required.

**Qualifications required**:

- Grade 12
- Valid driver’s license

**Skills required**:

- Excellent communication skills, including an ability to engage residents with dementia through verbal and non-verbal communication techniques.
- A passion for working with elderly residents and creating a positive, stimulating environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver a diverse range of activities.
- A caring, empathetic, and patient approach, with a genuine interest in enhancing residents' lives.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of dementia care best practices and person-centred activity planning.
- A flexible approach.
- Computer literate.

**Work Experience**:

- Previous experience working in a care home or similar environment, particularly with older adults or individuals with dementia.
- Experience in event organizing.

Location: Port Elizabeth
