Maintenance Coordinator

**Job purpose**:
To provide technical and operational support through maintenance of the building and equipment in order to keep the building in a safe and workable state while minimising occupational risks relating to the work environment.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Source the correct machine parts
- Ensure smooth operation of material handling equipment and refrigeration
- Keep machines in 100% working condition
- Arranging servicing of equipment with service providers
- Technical support to operations team on a daily basis
- Reduce operational downtime as much as possible
- Maintaining machines in their original state
- Plan preventative maintenance on all equipment
- Effective communication on all maintenance related queries
- Update maintenance documents
- Manage diesel usage/topups for on site generator
- Organise quotations for external providers
- Prepare equipment and maintenance documents for audit purposes
- Assist with relialibity improvement projects
- Utilise pragma or othe systems for generating reliability improvements activities
- Assist with development of standards for plant, equipment and machine components.
- Facilitate team problem solving sessions to effect root cause analysis
- Diagnose potential failure of any items of equipment and plan accordingly to ensure that repairs can be affected timeously
- Be the first line of call out for break downs
- Ensure that critical spares are identified and available to minimise down time
- Review installations and ensure compliance with OSH act and standards
- Continuously monitor and evaluate performance of service providers
- Report all unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Manager and institute corrective actions
- Implement maintenance strategies to keep abreast of latest technology advances
- Drive equipment and machine safety improvements to ensure risk assessments and hazardous impacts are focussed upon to reduce risk
- Do standby duties when required

Skills Required:

- Compliance with Environmental Health and Safety requirements
- Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Compliance with Ethics Policy
- Demonstrate safety awareness
- Valid driver’s license
- Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical and Mechanical
- Knowledge of FMCG industry
- HT Electrical systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Computerised Maintenance
- Welding Engineering
- Computer Literate
- MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook
