Compliance and Risk Officer

Our client in Financial Services is looking for a CISCA Compliance, Internal Audit and Risk Officer. This role is responsible for compliance oversight for the ManCo operations, Internal Audit for the group, with special attention on limiting risk in respect of legislative changes, and potential legislative shifts. The role also includes the accurate compilation of risk and compliance reporting, including Adhoc review and analysis work by the Risk and Compliance Committee.
The role is ideally suited to a recent graduate with Accounting and/ or Risk Management as part of their completed degree, or where previous working experience includes completed accounting or auditing articles. Preference will be given to applicants who Registered CISCA compliance officer.
Key responsibilities include:
CISCA and related legislative Compliance:
- CISCA and related Compliance, legislative review and recommendations to ManCo, ensuring that company is up to date with requirements and anticipate expected changes as these are released as discussion documents and white papers.
- Review of reviewing ManCo daily, monthly, quarterly compliance.
Internal Audit:
- Preparation of internal control processes and procedures.
- Preparation of risk management process.
- Audit Comm project assignments as needed.
FSP Compliance / Risk Officer:
- Compliance reporting on behalf of business unit.
- Review of planned legislative changes, and make recommendations of changes required in risk control and operational procedures.
- Monitoring of existing legislative changes.
- Assist with documentation of processes and procedures, and planned training of same.
- Review of system, and recommendations of system changes required.
**Requirements**:
- Relevant tertiary qualification a necessity: B Com (Accounting) or B Com Honours in Risk Management
- Completed accounting or auditing articles
- Registered CISCA compliance officer preferred, or ability to demonstrate sufficient expertise in that specific area.
- Computer literacy a necessity: including MS Excel (advanced)
- Previous experience in similar function preferred, with proven track record
- Accurate and deadline oriented.
