Duties/Pligte

The incumbent will be involved in the following:
**1. Design and Implementation**:

- Writing protocol, SOPs, training material, etc., to effectively deliver on the component at both sites;
- Situating the scientific rationale for the component (i.e., up-to-date 'background' section for reporting findings from the component);
- Representing the science of this component to other work package leads / PIs/collaborators;
- Training field teams to implement appropriate data collection at high quality;
- Monitoring implementation of fieldwork;
- Managing incoming data.

**2. Academic Reporting**:

- Drafting sections of academic manuscripts (i.e., co-authoring);
- Leading (i.e., as first author) at least one academic manuscript in reporting the findings from this component.

**3. Project Management**:

- Providing overall project management support;
- Assisting principal investigators and work package leads with project implementation;
- Coordinating activities across partner organisations in South Africa, Cambodia, and the United Kingdom.

**4. Project Planning and Coordination**:

- Actively participating in team meetings (including virtually);
- Generating appropriate management tracking tools (e.g., Gantt charts) for project activities, and ensuring that these are shared and updated regularly.

**5. Human Capital Management and General**:

- Managing relevant field and administrative team members as needed;
- Performing any other relevant duties as may be required from time to time by the line manager.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
- A master's-level degree in economics;
- At least eight or more years' experience at post-master's level, including at least three or more years' experience conducting research and project managing complex research projects across multiple sites.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling
- Current or imminently planned PhD registration using discrete choice experiment methods;
- Experience in leading a work package in a multi-component, multi-country, large-scale research project.
