Writing out and completing permit to work clearances on hot, cold and confined space work
- Complete process start-up and shut down conditions in the correct and safe manner.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is available for batch start-up e.g.: works order, process log
- Ensure effective communication of process conditions in concise and accurate manner
- Ensure effective response to abnormal process conditions in response to alarms and deviations
- Manufacturing of chemical products using processing equipment such as reactors, blenders, pumps, etc. while ensuring safety, processing standards and within quality specifications.
- Identify changing process conditions and troubleshooting while ensuring safety and quality
- Ensure effective administration and efficient shift handover communication
- Efficient control over utility and raw material usage, to prevent wastage
- Actively participate in stock take and dipping of tanks
- Act for Shift leader in his absence and manage plant effectively
- Ensure that all ZERO HARM and safety standards are maintained
- Test and checks on all safety equipment carried out by ensuring PMS are completed on time
- Rectify and report safety hazards promptly and correct storage of equipment and stock
- Maintain good housekeeping standards on the plant
- Carry out PJOs and training with Junior Operators and identify areas that require attention

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Grade 12
- NQF3 in Chemical Operations or Diploma in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing plant.
