Analysis
- Management qualities
- Industry analysis
- Financial analysis which includes ratio analysis with the interpretation of the ratios.
- Security to lower the loan to value risk in transaction.
- Ensure accuracy in customer financial data, including payment history, proof of income, financial analysis with interpretation and bank statements and any other supporting documentation.
- Ensure the credit analysis decision is made within prescribed policies and authority limits.
- Provide input and recommendations on process optimization and system enhancements within the department.
- Compile and analyse profit & loss and balance sheet to conduct sufficient trends and ratio analysis.
- Monitor and manage credit exposure by regularly reviewing and updating credit limits for existing customers.
- Perform periodic credit reviews to identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Create reports for management with viable recommendations for improvement of business operations, efficiencies, and internal controls.
- Coach, mentor, and assist fellow team members to establish a consistent level of quality, accuracy, and compliance to departmental standards and internal controls.
- Consult with management when needed and make recommendations on policy exceptions and control weaknesses to ensure that findings are correct.
- Analyse, summarize, and monitor compliance with credit policies.
- Identify underwriting and funding weaknesses, address areas of non-compliance, and recommend change when necessary.

Stakeholder engagement
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with dealers, sales representatives, clients, internal stakeholders, and credit reporting agencies.
- Engage and input to industry related topics in line with various trends and statistical information.
- Collaborate closely with the sales and finance teams to ensure effective credit management practices and work towards minimizing potential credit losses.
- Resolve queries to ensure delivery of excellent service.
- Ensure effective management of projects.

Transportation Industry
- Analyse and provide inputs to transportation industry policies and procedures.
- Contribute and input to postmortem discussions, system enhancements and the optimization of processes.
- Contribute to updates, monthly portfolio/statistics reviews.

Experience
- Minimum of 6 years relevant experience in:

- Vehicle and asset finance industry
- Financial Services environment
- Credit granting Mandate

Knowledge
- Credit lending principles in Corporate and Commercial Vehicles environment
- Relevant legislation including, but not limited to NCA, FICA, POPIA, etc.
- Development of rating models.
- Knowledge in asset base finance in commercial vehicle industry.
