High Yield Credit Analyst

Role Purpose

Contribution to Investment team as High Yield Credit Analyst / Portfolio Manager in the following ways:

- Responsible for enhancing and implementing the fixed income high yield credit process.
- Implementing the high yield process on various fixed income portfolios.
- Work by example - in line with behaviors, values and new way of work.
- Effective stakeholder management and engagement - Clients, governance committees etc.
- Build a credible profile internally as well as externally.
- Pro-actively support and work with other areas with a spirit of teamwork and shared accountability.
Requirements

**Qualifications**:

- B.Com / B.SC (Hons) degree or higher.
- CA / CFA preferable.

**Experience**:

- 5+ years credit analysis and / or credit portfolio management experience.
- Asset management experience preferable.
Duties & Responsibilities

**Function Responsibilities (Outputs)**:

- Custodian of the fixed income team credit process and philosophy.
- Analysis of individual credit quality of high yield borrowers.
- Compile analyst reports with exposure recommendations on credit quality on a probability of default perspective.
- Generate internal credit ratings for high yield issuers.
- Determine the fair value spread required before investing.
- Lead the view on high yield credit quality and pricing prior to exposure taken.
- Reporting generation & report to the various governance committees.
- Member of the fixed income credit team in the TAA process.
- Building and enhancing the credit research process.
- Generating new credit opportunities for implementation in portfolios.
- Regular engagement with management teams as part of our ESG process.
- Making credit exposure calls independent of outside influences.
- Implementation of high yield credit calls in various portfolios.
- Performance of the high yield portfolio over the appropriate investment horizon against its benchmark and peer group.
- Contributing to the analysis of high yield and credit instruments in various capability funds.

Competencies
- MS Office literate.
- Must be proficient in Excel.
- Bloomberg System experience is preferable.
- Front office system knowledge is preferable.
- High numeracy and critical thinking skills.
- Intimate knowledge of credit instruments, annual financial statements, and credit markets in general.
- Portfolio management experience is preferable.
- Must be able to work independently.
