**Responsibilities**:
- The principal accountability of the Head of Investigation is driving the implementation and execution of Investigations program and best practices across his/her areas businesses. The highlights of these accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Subject matter expert of case management for internal investigations regarding loss prevention, workplace violence, vandalism, sabotage, fraud, compromised proprietary information, misconduct, and other similar events that are either criminal or a violation of corporate policy or ethics.
- Leverage the existing data sources and data analytics to identify potential fraudulent/irregular activities to focus the investigative efforts on the highest value areas
- Conduct interviews and compile documents for law enforcement agencies in cases forwarded for prosecution.
- Prepare thorough, well-organized, unbiased, and factual investigative reports and present the facts in a form that is suitable for dissemination to management, the audit committee, law enforcement and related third parties, as applicable
- Maintain strong working relationships with, and provide consultation to, local management teams.
- Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with the Legal, Compliance and Ethics and Human Resources, regulators and law enforcement departments to coordinate investigations; preserve the company's rights and mitigate potential liabilities and achieve maximum results that support business efforts
- Perform fraud risk assessments to assess whether existing controls can be circumvented and the susceptibility of controls to management override
- Identify business process and information systems process gaps that can be exploited and work with management to analyze the cost benefit of mitigating the risk
- Conduct investigations into potential employee/contractor/third party vendor related fraudulent and/or irregular acts, while maintaining the strictest confidentiality, utilizing effective interviewing techniques and the use of proper evidence identification, collection, and preservation methods
- Reporting to senior management on the status of investigations of alleged violations of the company’s Code of Conduct, company policies, or laws or regulations involving employee misconduct. Provide briefings to senior leadership as needed.
- Work closely with partners in Compliance and Ethics in reviewing inquiries, disclosures, and allegations to assist in identifying emerging risks and trends within the workforce.
- Ensure compliance with PepsiCo AMESA Security Risk Management System and supporting standards and procedures.
- Advise and assist before, during and after security incidents, including on-the-spot risk assessments and security advice to business travelers.
- Conduct and coordinate investigations to include counterfeit, extortion, contamination of our products, loss reduction, kidnapping, robberies, Speak Up, fraud, corruption, and security threats against the companies interests and associates.
- During strike operations or labor disputes assist the security teams to provide training to security guards and employees in strike protocols.
- Ensure the continued professional development of his/her area of responsibility investigation team, to include the identification of suitable individuals in longer-term succession planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Forensic investigation / relevant industry experience
- 3+ years of experience conducting internal investigations and managing an investigations portfolio.
- 5+ years of Investigation experience in consulting, audit, finance, human resources, compliance, or legal
- Certified Fraud Examiner in good standing with ACFE - advantageous
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in SAPS/Law Enforcement (Detective/Specialised Units will be advantageous)
- Preference for experience at a multi-national corporation and working with a global team.
- 5 Years experience in FMCG Security Environment.
- Professional experience and knowledge of the appropriate, tailored investigation procedures, including investigative interviews and communication with complainants.
- Experience with fraud, forensic accounting, third-party risk management, human resources, conflicts of interest, and theft investigations.
- Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as external parties.
