**Vacancy: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (M&E officer)**

**Description**:
**Minimum Requirements**:

- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
- Monitoring and Evaluation certificate
- Good organisational skills.
- Minimum of one year working in a research environment
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Good grasp of research language and processes, high level written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing interests

**Role**:

- To develop a systematic monitoring framework to improve the qualitative and quantitative evidence gathered by the Projects.

**Scope**:

- To provide technical assistance to the organisation, particularly in relation to monitoring, reporting and governance issues.
- To provide for the design, coordination and implementation of the monitoring and evaluation, research, and learning framework of the Project.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop the overall framework for the organisation’s M&E activities
- Support project progress reporting, project mid-term review and final evaluations.
- Develop project Performance Monitoring Plans (PMPs) with relevant data collection systems.
- Assist in the revision of the organisation’s project log-frame matrix, in relation to performance indicators and their measurement.
- Assist in the development and/or finalization of project workplan of each project, and keep it updated in accordance with project activities and relevant timeframes.
- Collect data on a regular basis to measure achievements against performance indicators.
- Assess data quality with project staff and partners.
- Maintain and administer the M&E database
- Develop baseline data for each project component and for all project indicators.
- Conduct periodic site visits to project sites, to ascertain and promote adherence to agreed standards and timelines of implementation.
- Create greater awareness of reporting amongst the projects team.
- Organize and undertake regular training on M&E as required.
- Produce reports on M&E findings and prepare presentations based on M&E data as required.
- Identify lessons learned and develop case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project.
- Provide advice on improving project performance using M&E findings.
- Regularly review Monitoring and Evaluation plans and reporting tools.
- Submit monthly reports and updates to the RME Unit Manager/Consultant

**Monthly Salary**: R22 468

**Salary**: R22,468.00 per month
