In the role of a Financial Control you will report into the Head of Financial Control Financial Control which covers the financial accounting, validation and reconciliation, legal entity statutory reporting and cost control function which includes the budget/forecasting and expense control processes.

This is an exciting role for a motivated CA(SA) who wants to grow their career within the exciting Investment Banking Industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparation, processing, validation and reporting financial accounting data and disclosure information associated with the companies activities as required for and by the accounting firms Group Finance and Group Tax
- End to end accounting and reporting for special purpose vehicles including annual financial statement preparation and attendance to annual external audit
- Preparation and execution of income tax and deferred tax calculations, validations and completion of various tax returns (VAT and Income Tax returns and supplementary submissions)
- Preparation and completion of critical reconciliations and controls to ensure operating as intended. Maintenance of financial control dashboard including stakeholder management and critical controls review monthly
- Understanding Blackline system (reconciliation and account validation) requirements and managing month end deliverables required on Blackline
- Expense administration, validation and reporting including SAP journal processing, maintaining and updating DOAs, monthly management information reporting to Exco, Group Finance, Group Cost Control and Internal Financial Control Committee
- Budgeting: Involvement in the annual budget process and revised estimates as per Group guidelines and deadlines. Facilitate the budget compilation and presentation. Ensure budget communicated and agreed. Ensure budgeting system is up to date
- Involvement in adhoc projects to improve financial control reporting and the control environment

**Qualifications**:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant - CA (SA) or B Comm honors with experience in an Investment Banking environment

**Experience**:

- Investment Banking or Life Company experience
- Preparation of Annual Financial Statements of financial services SPEs

Job related Skills:

- Advanced excel skills for complex spreadsheet maintenance
- Ability to work in SAP (posting journals, transaction listings, reconciliations)
- Stakeholder management - attend to requirements of Group Finance, Group Tax, front office teams and managing service providers for outsourced deliverables
- Up to date IFRS knowledge for financial statements drafting
- Knowledge of procurement process and operations
