**Warehouse Supervisor (Night Shift) - Food / Meat Industry**

**Location**: Stikland, Bellville, Cape Town
**Hours**: Night Shift (typically 11pm - 7am, may vary)

**About the Role**

This is a **working supervisor** role — you’ll lead from the front by actively participating in the **picking of meat and other products** alongside your team to ensure quality, efficiency, and precision throughout the process.

You will report directly to the **Operations Manager** and play a key role in ensuring smooth nightly operations, maintaining stock accuracy, and upholding food safety and hygiene standards.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Supervise and coordinate a team of packers during the night shift.
- Actively participate in **picking and packing of meat and related products**.
- Oversee order accuracy and ensure timely fulfilment of all customer orders.
- Conduct **daily stock takes**, reconciliations, and report any variances.
- Complete and submit **daily operational reports** to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure all work areas meet **food safety and hygiene standards** at all times.
- Monitor **temperature control logs** and ensure products remain within safe handling limits.
- Enforce **FIFO (First-In, First-Out)** and general food quality control best practices.
- Support the Operations Manager with investigating discrepancies or process breakdowns.
- Identify and propose **improvements to warehouse efficiency**, layout, and workflow.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment.
- Maintain high levels of morale and teamwork among packing staff.

**Requirements**:

- **Minimum 3-5 years’ experience** in a warehouse or production supervisory role (food or meat industry experience highly advantageous).
- Strong understanding of **food safety**, **FIFO**, and **temperature management** requirements.
- Valid **driver’s licence** and own reliable transport (night shift).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Willingness to work variable night shift hours when required.
