**Position Specification**

**The Role**

The Chief Information Officer is responsible for ensuring the use of modern IT software and technologies to streamline business operations. Their duties include communicating between other company Executives and lower-level IT personnel, reviewing current IT systems, and establishing relationships with technology companies.

**Reporting Structure**

The Chief Operations Officer is responsible for a team of 19 people, comprising the Head of IT Operations (with 3 people reporting to him) and Head of enterprise solution (with 14 people reporting to her).

**Skills and Knowledge Requirements**:

- Programme and project management skills;
- LEAN experience;
- Able to render 3rd line support and assist technicians with problem solving of complex technical issues;
- Specific technologies:

- Microsoft Windows Server operating systems;
- Office 265 platform;
- Microsoft SQL server;
- Microsoft Active Directory;
- Microsoft SharePoint;
- Best practice security suites;
- Data protection solutions;
- VMware;
- Veeam;
- HP SANs;
- LAN, WAN, VPN, Diginet, ADSL;
- ISA;
- Microsoft Terminal server;
- Mobile technology;
- Familiar with programming terminology and SOA;

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Relevant B Degree in information systems or equivalent;
- ITIL certification;
- 8 years technical support experience in service desk environment;
- 8 years experience in managing IT operations;
- 8 years managing project environment;
- 5 years experience in managing high performance development teams;
- Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies.
