**The Barrick Africa Middle East Team **is seeking to recruit an Expediting, QC and Logistics Officer to join and grow their team.

You will be expected to align to the Barrick DNA and to operate within our mining assets with our best people teams. You will contribute in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with Mine Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures and ensure daily targets are met.

**Responsibilities**
- Receives, verifies and actions approved purchase orders which have been identified as critical by site HOD and AME regional leads.
- Perform technical and commercial evaluation of offers and place purchase order in consultation with end users and site capital projects manager.
- Initiates discussions regarding trade terms and discount structures with vendors and together with Sourcing and Procurement negotiates the final terms.
- Track and trace the transaction and ensures delivery schedules and dates are met. Intervenes to evaluate options to expedite the delivery when the need arises
- Establishes and maintains close relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, buying house, end users and site team to ensure target dates are met.
- Review of completion milestones and administrate milestone payments.
- Perform kick off meetings and milestone quality assurance of manufactured equipment to verify specification and quality.
- Keep record of quality inspections and furnish this to regional leads and end users.
- Identify any non-conformances, assist in root cause analysis and devise corrective/preventive action to restore the equipment to acceptable serviceable condition.
- Conduct Supplier audits and recommendation for vendor registration.
- Inspect critical parts in storage and ensure that the correct storage practices are followed.
- To ensure that packing/loading of items will prevent items from damage in transit at all stages of transportation.
- To ensure that consolidation and shipping is managed effectively for on time and cost effective delivery to mine site
- To initiate item creation and consumption discussions with suppliers and mine Demand and MRP supervisor to ensure ongoing supply for first gold.
- Support the annual inventory target values through working closely with end users and site supply chain manager.
- Support the review of SAP master data to ensure the demand planning process can be effectively performed.
- Drive the rotable spares strategy to optimise core refund and lower cost of new spares.

**Qualification requirements**
- A Mechanical or Electrical post matric Qualification.
- A degree or diploma in Supply Chain would be beneficial.

**Experience and competencies needed**
- 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Supply Chain and logistics experience.
- Experience with Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes for specifically mining equipment and understanding of the supply chain/logistics environment.
- ISO 9000 QA inspection experience.
- Steel fabrication experience.
