Brand and Marketing Specialist

**Job Description**:
As the Brand and Marketing Specialist you will play a key role in assisting business units in defining, developing and implementing their specific marketing, brand and communication plans and strategies. You will further be accountable for implementing the organisation’s brand, marketing and communications strategy. Your understanding of the entire marketing landscape and how all elements work together to create positive experiences and enhance reputation will position will stand you in good stead. You will be responsible for managing marketing agencies to produce fit-for-purpose artefacts aligned with the marketing and communications plan as well as playing the role of brand custodian for one or more of the company’s product brands and will develop and implement a brand governance process to ensure adequate use of the brand outside of the organisation.
As the Brand and Marketing Specialist, you are:
- Responsible for ensuring that brand collateral, signage, logos and brand touch points are managed against business and marketing requirements
- Organised and deadline driven
- Able to think strategically but also implement operationally
- Able to manage multiple agencies with multiple deliverables
- A competent writer with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent presentation skills and able to present to different stakeholder groups.
Excellent spoken and written communication skills, being a creative thinker, your strong experience in brand strategy, development, management, and positioning a well as your ability to work as part of a cross-functional team positions you favourably for this role

**Your key responsibilities include**:
- Ensure the programme’s external and internal communication programme is consistent and compliant with programme-wide messages and protocols
- Ensure that programme communications practices are aligned to marketing deliverables and business requirements
- Ensure that programme communications practices are aligned to the brand strategy
- Participate in marketing brainstorming sessions to solve business communication challenges
- Ensure that all brand awareness communications align with the brand and represents the key message adequately and accurately.
- Ensure that all artefacts developed are aligned to the brand specs and that all co-branded use of the brand adheres to the brand rules.
- Responsible for assisting business units in defining, developing and implementing their specific marketing, brand and communication plans and strategies.
- Accountable for implementing the organisation’s brand, marketing and communications strategy.
- Writing high-quality content that meets the needs of the business and the brand and effectively communicates the intended messages
- Support programme initiatives utilising appropriate programme communication technology tools.
- Collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging across the programme
- Implementation of the marketing plan in conjunction with the marketing team
- Ensure that writing activities are implemented and aligned to strategic business initiatives
- Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and processes that ensure the programme’s communication needs are met in a consistent and efficient manner
**QUALIFICATION**
- Three-year marketing / communications qualification or similar (Diploma or relevant degree)
- Effective planning and organisational skills
- Required computer literacy levels
- Professional language skills in written and spoken English
- Proficient Business writing skills
- Sound editing principles and practices
**EXPERIENCE**
- 5 years’ experience in a brand and marketing role
- 5 years’ work experience in a corporate environment
- Understanding of the payments and financial services industry
- Experience in digital and social media marketing engagement
- Communication challenges
- Strong brand management portfolio of evidence
- Ability to translate technical language into plain language
- Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
