As part of the Special Asset Management team within the Investment Banking Division, the incumbent will provide the strategic lead in the management of CIB’s distressed assets, in South Africa and Absa’s Regional Operations, structuring solutions commercially appropriate for the circumstances, to mitigate the risk of loss, minimize potential and actual impairments (including capital at risk) and ensure that the bank is appropriately compensated for the given risk profile. Specialist knowledge in the management of CIB clients facing financial distress is essential with experience of distressed asset management strategies and restructuring

**Job Description**:

- Strong knowledge of CIB lending products
- Knowledge and experience in Corporate Finance, capital raising requirements (debt and equity)
- Experience at leading complex and high profile transactions.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams and project teams.
- Superior valuations skills, ability to run discounted cash flows
- Understand the distressed enviroment
- Excellent verbal reasoning and negotiation skills, especially under pressure.

Education

Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
