Job Overview:
**Responsibilities**:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing expert advice on hardware products and solar installations.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products and services to meet their requirements, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other related components.
- Provide accurate product information, pricing, and availability to customers, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience.
- Process customer transactions, including cash, credit cards, and other payment methods, using a point-of-sale (POS) system accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop environment, ensuring products are displayed attractively and shelves are well-stocked.
- Receive and unpack new inventory, checking for accuracy and reporting any discrepancies to the manager.
- Assist with inventory management, including conducting regular stock checks, updating inventory records, and placing orders for replenishment.
- Collaborate with the installation team to schedule solar installation appointments and provide necessary information to customers regarding the process, timelines, and required documentation.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and product knowledge, attending training sessions and workshops as necessary.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving for swift resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Support marketing initiatives by promoting solar installation services and special promotions to customers.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, ensuring a secure and hazard-free environment for both customers and staff.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
- Knowledge of hardware products, including hand tools, power tools, plumbing supplies, electrical components, and building materials.
- Familiarity with solar energy systems and related components would be advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with customers effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to offer creative solutions to customers' needs.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team, adapting to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and handling cash transactions.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime, as required.
