Hello, future Data Science Manager

We are seeking an experienced Data Science Manager to support the FNB Retail Data and Analytics Office with a focus on the Personal Segment. You’ll support the business through the development of predictive and prescriptive analytics to drive More to Customers. This is achieved through partnering with business, translating business strategy into analytical artifacts and identifying analytical opportunities and drive these within business. Beyond individual contributions, you'll play a vital role in managing and mentoring Data scientists, guiding them through advanced analytics techniques and fostering their growth within our dynamic team. - Has end to end model development experience as well as, appreciation for statistics and able to translate models, insights and optimisation into business value.
- Has experience with disparate data and identifying unique data patterns for deep analysis and feature creation.

- Has strong technical skills with strong coding proficiency in SAS, SAS Viya or Python.
- Hard working individual that can work well under pressure.
- Able to translate business requirements into tangible, creative solutions.
- Has A/B Testing methodology background to measure uplift and improve KPIs.
- Abstraction of and translating business problems into analytical products and insights, delivering through a team of data scientists
- An intuitive feel for analytical accuracy and real-world translation.
- Adheres to advance analytics protocols
- Like to grow and support data science in their career progression
- Produce innovative ideas and solutions based on data, stating assumptions and overcoming challenges.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Mathematical sciences, Statistics, Data Science or Actuarial Science
- Preferred Qualification: Honours Degree
- Experience: A minimum of 5 - 7 years' relevant experience within Analytics or Data Science of which 2 years in a Senior data science role
- End to end Model development experience (predictive and prescriptive analytics)
- Decision science, optimisation and testing methodologies
- Strong coding proficiency in SAS, SAS Viya or Python
- Able to work with Big Data; Teradata (advantageous)
- Strong stakeholder management experience
