Diopoint seeks to appoint a Data Governance (Management) Specialist on a 3 year fixed term contract who will be responsible for supporting the coordination and adoption of data governance across the enterprise.

**Duties**:

- Create data management policies, standards and roll-out processes to govern changes to data flows, data models, master/reference data across the corporate landscape.
- Develop and implement standards for data quality that ensures reliability and accessibility to support the mission and activities of the business.
- Define a comprehensive data quality framework including validation processes, patterns, exception handling approaches, metrics and stewardship responsibilities.
- Establish governance councils and working groups to ensure consistency and adoption of governance across data domains.
- Establish a data stewardship workflow and communication program with stakeholders for the remediation of data;
- Work closely with the business to develop data quality measures and practices to improve the line of business data and to protect the company’s sensitive information.
- Implement data quality controls in a flexible and scalable solution to allow the ability to easily create or manage rules and exception handling workflows.
- Partner with information systems to implement tools and analytics that will further provide insight to data quality problems leading to remediation efforts.
- Work with the technology team to support data management policies and practices.
- Establish and oversee audit of all data and ensures data is properly classified according to use, sensitivity, and importance.
- Translates legal guidance on data compliance and governance; collaborates with legal and compliance for ensuring that data is being collected and stored in compliance with established policies, regulations or certifications.
- Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trends.
- Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland’s Information Systems Security Policy

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor s degree in Management Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5 + years of relevant experience.
- Experience leading and influencing for data management programs.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills - Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS SharePoint.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of database concepts and query languages.
- Strong written, technical documentation, and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency using Business Intelligence and reporting tools, i.e., QlikView, Data Access Studio.
- Effective time management, ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Proven track record of delivering exceptional results over an extended period of time.
- Experience with data profiling and data profiling techniques.
- Proficiency understanding of project management methodologies and tools

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Gauteng, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
