Job SummaryThe Marketing Intern will support both the Customer Experience Marketing and Digital Marketing Teams at IFF. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in market research, data analysis, presentation design, and project management in one of Southern Africa’s leading food, beverage, health and fragrance ingredient companies. The intern will work closely with various teams to enhance customer engagement, support marketing strategies, and contribute towards our internal growth initiatives. Of course, we also want you to bring your creativity, ideas, and skills to inspire us along the way
- Key Responsibilities:

- Market Research:
- Track recent market launches through Mintel (digital platform) and identify interesting products, flavors, ingredients, or promotional approaches.- Help all divisions stay updated with the latest market launches.- Generate tailored reports using Mintel’s insights database.- Work with data from Passport Euromonitor (digital platforms) support market analyses.- Presentations:
- Build quality slides that follow IFF brand guidelines for customer engagement presentations.- Deliver presentations internally to the marketing team.- Design:
- Work with our technical teams to design labels using Canva or IFF templates for prototypes shown to customers.- Create product mock-ups for customer presentations using Canva and generative AI.-
- Lead the introduction of new digital tools that we’re trialling in the company and with customers including Augmented Reality (AR).
- Innovation Days & Growth Initiatives:
- Support our customer marketing team with setting up at customer locations, handing out collaterals, and setting up tasting sheets and cups.- Gain exposure to customer meetings and engagements, witnessing discussions around industry trends and customer needs.

Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with customer marketing teams in different business units to ensure that technology enhances campaign effectiveness, personalization, and customer engagement.- Partner with IT and data teams to ensure data governance, integration, and IFF security compliance is maintained.- Be an ally and champion to drive the adoption of a data-driven, innovation-oriented culture within the IFF marketing organization.- Being a shining star to guide customer engagement Marketing teams through new Martech tools and products such as AI and AR so they feel confidently equipped to share with their wider local teams.- Be a communication innovator inside IFF. Using your newly formed network inside IFF, identify opportunities to showcase the amazing work IFF South Africa is doing to the rest of the company around the world. Come up and implement innovative communication ideas to bring the stories alive

Learning Opportunities:
- Gain a clear understanding of using the Mintel database and perform secondary research.- Learn about market analyses through access to Market Sizes, Brand Shares, and forecasts.- Develop skills in creating and delivering presentations.- Gain experience in design tools like Canva and SmartMockups (digital platforms).- Learn how to manage marketing collateral stock and build relationships with vendors.- Exposure to customer meetings and industry discussions.
