SENIOR PRIMARY LEARNING SUPPORT EDUCATOR

FULL TIME, PERMANENT POSITION

Thomas More College seeks to employ a dynamic, motivated team player who aligns with the school’s vision of delivering An Inspired Education. This role will report to the Deputy Head of Academics and HOD of AEU.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- A strong understanding of educational standards, the ability to align curriculum with learning objectives, and the skill to track and communicate pupil advancement.
- Teaching skills in reading, English, and Mathematics to pupils individually and in learning support groups within a classroom.
- Provide support to classroom teachers in creating inclusive environments and adapting tasks for learners with varied abilities.
- Track pupil progress and maintain accurate records of pupil information.
- Proactively communicate with parents and maintain positive relationships.
- Stay up to date with the latest developments and best practices in teaching and learning support within the Intermediate Phase.
- Working with an online Learner Management System (such as Google Classroom and EdAdmin).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Adherence to the values, vision, and Christian Ethos of the School.
- A Remedial Education Diploma or /and Honours in Learner’s Support.
- SACE registered.
- At least 5 years’ experience teaching in the Intermediate Phase; ideally in an IEB school.
- Experience in interpreting Educational Assessment Reports.
- A willingness to participate fully in the school’s extracurricular programme.
- A natural inclination toward constant improvement and personal growth.
- Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
- Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Adhere to the School code of conduct.
- Criminal and Sexual Offender’s Clearance Certificate.
