The prime objective of technical training is to develop the competence of dealer staff to meet the certification and compliance requirements set by the VW Group South Africa and its Brands.

Responsibility for the development or customisation of training content rests with individual trainers who have the specialist skills or competencies to develop the specific content. The allocation of such will be undertaken at the direction of MSX.

Training Content Design / Launches / Projects
- In collaboration with the Instructional Design Team compile training materials for designated programmes
- Design, customise or refresh training material as directed by MSX, this would include
- Company Content customised to SA market
- Existing materials
- New local content for specific projects
- The format on content required would include:

- Face to Face Training: Facilitator Guide, Participant Guide, Power Point, Assessments
- Virtual Class Room Training : Facilitator Guide, Participant Guide, Power Point Guide, Assessments
- Web Based Training: Content as required
- Comply with the versioning rules for cataloguing
- Align all content development to meet competence based learning outcomes
- Ensure that all training activities and materials, including examination and assessments, meet with the relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health and safety.
- Assist the Technical Training Lead to:

- scope and define learner paths for functional roles.
- plan for new product introduction training (determined by model).
- achieve an 80: 20 blended learning strategy (20% Theoretical for 80% Practical).
- Ensure that all training activities and materials, including examination and assessments, meet with the relevant organisational and statutory policies, including health and safety.

Training Delivery
- Deliver training at venues or locations at the direction of the Technical Training Lead
- Undertake content development and revision at the direction of the Technical Training Lead on the days on which training delivery is not required. The location for all this will at the company or at the companies satellite locations in KZN and Cape Town.
- Deliver between 120 - 140 platform days per annum and attend 2-3x trips to VWAG per annum at the direction of Companies Management.
- Working hours would be between 07h00 and 16h00.
- Ensure utilisation of training information, tools and materials provided by the company
- Deliver ad hoc training as directed
- Travel to deliver training, both within South Africa and in Sub-Sahara markets will be a requirement for this role
- All new Product Launch Training designed and delivered, compliance attendance for target audiences delivered as defined by Brands per new model introductions.

Evaluation
- Support the training evaluation process according to Kirkpatrick levels 1-5 managed in alignment with specific training outcomes.
- Manage own course evaluations and ensure corrective actions are implemented where learners are under-performing. Report poor performance outcomes to the Non-Tech Training Lead for further action
- Examination/assessment process and resources managed according to the company and company policy.
- Set relevant and meaningful questionnaires for all courses presented and test the delegates to ensure competence on the course content.
- Make use of polls and online comments during VCT sessions to provide valuable feedback on own session effectiveness.

Audits and Housekeeping
- Maintain the OEM Training standards and support the VWSA Academy audits as required. This includes general housekeeping and day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of all training vehicles, classrooms, practical workspace, and training equipment.

Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain professional and effective relationships with Dealer Personnel, the company Personnel, Suppliers /Service Providers, and preferred Training Bodies.
- Review and act on evaluations and feedback from Dealer Personnel, OEM Personnel, Suppliers / Service Providers, and preferred Training Bodies.
- Promote a positive working relationship with internal and external customers and service providers.

Process Management
- Undertake annual updates of all processes and alignment to internal Quality Management System.
- Continuous improvement approach implemented to support the ongoing improvement of business operations, specifically with regard to process efficiency.

Professional Development
- Obtain VWAG Trainer Certification
- QCTO Accreditation as an Assessor and Moderator registration
- Attend Train-the-Trainer sessions at the company as directed by Company Management
- Participate as directed by MSX in cross-skilling processes

Qualifications and Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technician after qualification ( post apprenticeship)
