**Position/Title: Food Safety Specialist**
**Reports Too: Quality Assurance Manager**

**Overall Responsibility**:
The Food Safety Specialists responsibilities will include implementation and maintenance of the food safety system at the Brewery faciality as well as in trade.

**Focus Area 1: Food safety System Management**
Support implementation of Manufacturing excellence Quality Pillar tools at the brewery and in trade where applicable
Develop, implement and manage quality and FS management sysems policies & procedures aligned to applicable Food safety standard
Participate in Food safety reviews Implement and maintain document control for the brewery
Training all staff on all aspects of the Food safety management system
Support and lead Food safety audits for site
Monitor and verify CCPs & PRPs
Manage GMP audits for site Familiar with quality and food safety legislations applicable to the industry
Manage non-conformances to any quality and food safety system to drive root cause and loop closure
Conducting warehouse/ depot audits and driving housekeeping at the Depo level.
On the job informal training and education to outlet staff and Sales reps where required Management of customer complaints& trend analysis
Driving problem solving of Customer and Consumer complaints
Prompting consumer complaint trends to Complaints team teams
Develop and update SOPs related to Quality and Food safety management
Monitoring outlets tap hygiene compliance for all draught complaints
Conduct internal audits on traceability systems
Monitor and evaluate results from mock recalls

**Requirements of the Role**
NSC Matric Certificate with Core Maths, Biology, Science
Tertiary degree/diploma in food science, or related field.
2-3 year experience in managing or participating in food safety management system implementation and maintenance
Potential to travel where required

**Preferred Skills/Competencies**
Computer proficient
Excellent communication skills
Good self-management skills
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
