BevCo Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa Food Safety Coordinator Job Purpose To ensure the effective monitoring and improvement of the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), conduct food safety audits, manage pest control and conduct food safety inspections. Key Accountabilities And Outputs Food Safety Management System Lead the Food Safety Team Continuous monitoring and improvement of the FSMS Coordinate monthly Food Safety Meetings & annual Food Safety Management Review Enforce Change Management Controls related to Food Safety Audits Plan and coordinate internal audits Represent BevCo during external/third‑party audits Raise and manage internal and external audit findings, corrective actions and verification Manage the CCPs and OPRPs, report failures and take corrective action with the Quality Manager and GM Ensure compliance with all regulatory and customer food safety mandates and requirements Pest Control Manage internal pest control for both plant and distribution centre Act as the internally appointed pest control officer Maintain all pest control records Analyse pest control trends Inspections Inspect plant hygiene units for functionality and chemical stock levels Conduct plant cleaning inspections against the Master Cleaning Schedule Carry out glass and foreign body inspections Inspect grounds and facilities Adherence to Health, Safety, Food and Environmental Standards Enforce all Food Safety Policies and PRPs at all times Enforce Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and PRPs at all times Ensure visitors and contractors are signed in, escorted, wear PPE and comply with hygiene policies Maintain high levels of personal hygiene per code of conduct Implement hand‑washing procedure before handling product Apply physical contamination control policy and procedures Take reasonable measures to prevent health and safety hazards; report incidents Maintain knowledge of first aid procedures and reporting injuries and illness Be conversant with relevant policies, processes and procedures Maintain performance standards and enforce compliance with legislation and GMPs Attend and apply training for Quality, Food Safety and Health & Safety Remain vigilant of food defence and fraud risks Maintain high housekeeping standards in the work environment General Ensure housekeeping is performed and products are stored within demarcated areas (green, red, yellow) Be conversant with relevant policies, processes and procedures Maintain performance standards Assist with work outside the direct job description when required Qualifications And Experience Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 (Essential) Up to 3 years’ experience in operational execution (technical, FMCG) Basic proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word and email Key Qualities Communication : Routine communication of instructions, requests or normal work tasks Problem Solving : Proactive identification of procedural problems, troubleshooting and escalating complex issues with required information Relationships Maintained : Interaction with other areas within the organisation Seniority level Not Applicable Employment type Full‑time Job function Manufacturing Beverage Manufacturing Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at BevCo by 2x Get notified about new Safety Coordinator jobs in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. #J-18808-Ljbffr
