**Job Purpose**:
To manage the the development of particular product lines, plan and execute projects and initiatives that support the broader marketing strategy of Durban Tourism, ensuring that Durban as a brand remains relevant to consumers/tourists.

This post reports to SENIOR MANAGER (MARKETING & COMM)

**Key Responsibility Areas**:

- Leads Durban Brand planning process and executes annual brand target setting and innovation review and brand strategy review.
- Drives consumer/tourists understanding and insights that defines Durban Tourism prime prospects, attitudes and values.
- Advertises aggressively and constantly markets and promotes the Durban Brand to become a preferred tourist destination of choice across the globe.
- Assumes responsibility for the day-to-day forecasting and and management of promotional materials.
- Directs and manages the activities of the Division.
- Manages, develops and monitors the performance and conduct of subordinates and
participates in the selection of subordinates.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Relevant 3 year tertiary qualification.
- Valid motor vehicle drivers license (Code B).
- 4 Years relevant experience.
- Computer Literacy.

**Preferred Requirements**:

- Relevant post graduate qualification.
- 6 Years relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Municipal Financial Management Acts (MFMA) and Municipal Systems Act
