**_Our client in the freight forwarding industry is urgently looking to employ an Estimator at their organization_**

**_Location: _**:

- Pomona, Kempton Park_

**_Requirements:_**
- _ Matric_
- _ 3+ years experience in the freight forwarding industry_
- _ Must have a basic understanding of imports, exports, and all modes of transport (air, sea, road)_
- _ Must have experience in the freight forwarding industry(non-negotiable)_

**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Requesting rates_
- _ Acknowledgment of quote requests from the sales staff, clients, and agents_
- _ Ensure all information is available to prepare an estimate as per the incoterm._
- _ Check if a client is on recoveries to quote accordingly with additional mark ups._
- _ Obtain rates per branch for new business and shipments where there are no agreed / local rates or rate sheets received from other branches (China rates, Europe, Italy, etc)_
- _ Request and compare rates received from agents overseas and shipping lines_
- _ Request transport rates/clearing rates/tariffs from clearing department/insurance percentages/agency and finance/mark ups if not available on hand._
- Compiling quotes_
- _ Adding information to the estimate sheet per incoterm and per mode._
- _ Checking of information before the completion_
- _ Send the quote to the client with required transit times or any additional info that that client requires._
- _ Correspond and communicate with clients in a professional manner._
- Reporting & following up on estimates_
- _ Follow up on all quotes and estimates compiled._
- _ Complete the estimate register with accurate and complete information._
- _ Send the report to a dedicated party weekly to compile and report to the manager._
- _ Attends to estimate register._
- _ Attends to recovery report_
- _ Compiles all Head office reports_
- Ad hoc_
- _ Perform ad-hoc requests, and checks comparisons, and/or reports as delegated by the manager._
- _ Assisting other sales administrators on leave or with an overflow of tasks on hand_
- _ Petty cash and credit card recons, when required_
- Client proposals_
- _ Gather information and rates from the required countries or modes._
- _ Compile the information into the proposal sheet_
- _ Send to the sales representative for final approval_
- Buying schedules_
- _ Requesting new buying rates from all shipping lines and co-loaders and assisting staff where needed with special rates._
- _ Complying with buying rate schedules from the Far East for FCL and LCL cargo._
- _ Compiling of buying airfreight rates from China and Taiwan._
- _ All comparisons for any country of origin for any mode._
- _ Compiling of all trade lane rates._
- Health and Safety_

- _Implementation of all Health and Safety protocols_
- _ Implementation of all Covid-19 requirements_
- _ Reports to labour department_
- Agent lists and country sheets_
- _ Updating agents list and updating contact details._
- _ Maintaining and control of all agent agreements_
- _ Assist with any agent queries_
