**Role Purpose**
- The purpose of the **Portfolio Manager role**within our dedicated investment team is to** construct and manage** our local and international investment portfolios to deliver returns in excess of our client’s expectations, considering mandate risk and return objectives.

**Requirements**:
**Qualifications**:

- Qualification in Investments Management, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent.
- Regulatory qualification either under FAIS or JSE to give advice and exercise discretion.
- CFA / CAIA qualification advantageous.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Asset Management or Portfolio Management.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

**Key Outputs**:
**Management of investment Portfolios**
- Manage our model investment portfolios based on the respective local and international mandates and their respective risk requirements.
- Focus on day-to-day operational portfolio management and monitoring of investments.
- Manage and respond to compliance issues.
- Monitor multiple portfolios risks and returns.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of markets, economics, company analysis and valuation.
- Review and implement investment recommendations.
- Foster effective working relationships and collaborate within the Momentum Group (segments, internal and external stakeholders).
- Provide technical advice and expertise regarding the development of new investment products.
- To maintain and re-evaluate, as required, the investment and stock selection process.
- Contribute to and manage the profitability of the asset management business unit.
- Share insights, present investment views and actively participate in the Momentum Securities Investment Committee.

**Compliance and monitoring of transactions**
- Ensure strict compliance with investment mandates.
- Identify areas of concern in operational, trading, and client relationships with the view to enhancing these.
- Ensure compliance with business standards, policies and internal controls associated with the role

**Client Engagement**
- Develop a close working relationship with Momentum Securities’
- Provide authoritative, expertise and advice to Retail Portfolio Managers and various stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with Portfolio Managers and external stakeholders.
- Deliver on service level agreements made with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
- Make recommendations to improve client service levels.
- Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.
