Executive: Risk, Governance and Integration

**PURPOSE OF ROLE**
The Executive for Risk, Governance and Integration holds a crucial position responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to legal and governance standards throughout the company’s operations, identifying and mitigating operational and company risks inherent in engineering, procurement, and construction operations, and providing strategic support and guidance to profit and loss divisions as well as support and enablement functions. This executive is a key member of the company's executive committee, contributing to decision-making processes and overseeing critical functions related to commercial operations, legal affairs, corporate planning, proposals, project controls, engineering standards and processes. This position shall also ensure effective integration with care groups responsible for Engineering, Project Development as well as Project and Construction Management.
**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**
- ** Risk Management Oversight**:
- Identifying, assessing, and mitigating technical risks across all projects and operations; advising project teams and Managing Executives while developing engineering-specific risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to uphold project integrity and profitability; fostering collaboration and communication among engineering, project management, and development to ensure technical alignment and project success; facilitating knowledge sharing and best practice dissemination across functional areas; managing the company risk register.
- ** Projects Control (measure & oversight)**
- Developing and implementing robust project control mechanisms to monitor technical performance, engineering deliverables, and project risks effectively (assisting to optimize project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations); establishment of a comprehensive platform for planning, work breakdown structures, estimating, cost control, progress measurement, materials control, and project documentation control. These mechanisms ensure efficient project management and contribute to the successful delivery of projects within scope, time, and budget constraints.
- ** Commercial and Legal operations**
- ** Compliance and Corporate planning**
- Establishing and enforcing compliance frameworks to ensure adherence to engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements; conducting technical audits and assessments proactively to identify and address compliance issues; providing technical guidance and support on commercial contracts, including aligning contract terms with technical requirements and risk mitigation strategies; contributing engineering insights to corporate planning processes to ensure alignment of technical capabilities with strategic objectives; implementing integrated management systems to optimize engineering workflows and improve project outcomes for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
- ** Processes and procedures**
- Develop and maintain tailored policies to address challenges in areas such as design standards, quality assurance, safety, and risk management; implementation includes communication of the new policies to relevant stakeholders, ensuring training, and integration into project workflows; monitoring compliance across all departments through regular audits and ongoing support to address any issues identified.
- ** Proposals**
- Providing technical oversight and governance in proposal development processes to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with risk assessments; collaborating with proposal teams across the business to effectively integrate engineering considerations into proposals; reviewing and assisting with the preparation of proposals, proposal clarifications, contract negotiation; ensure that proposals meet technical requirements, mitigate risks, and align with organizational objectives.
**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Electrical)
- Additional / advanced qualifications or certifications preferred.
- Extensive experience (minimum of 10 years) in engineering, procurement, and construction roles, with a strong focus on engineering integration, risk management and governance.
- Must have contract language experience (FIDIC/NEC)
