**The Big Picture**:
Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for an Assistant Maintenance Manager responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance of the Booysens site, both Offices and Workshops. This role will also be responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance of the machines and equipment for Howden Africa, Howden Power, James Howden Holdings, Howden Africa Compressors & Turbines Workshops and the ESAB Warehouse.

**What needs to be done?**:

- Assist in the implementation of maintenance strategies and plans aligned with the vision of the organisation.
- Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations.
- Manage the implementation of outsourced contractor work through service level agreements.
- Manage and ensure compliance to all Occupational Health and Safety and other relevant legislation requirements.
- Monitor and report on permits to work and monthly contractor hours on the Booysens site
- Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to proactively detect and resolve problems.
- Create and maintain maintenance procedures and JSA’s.
- Oversee spare parts and maintenance related stock.
- Oversee and allocate tasks to the gardeners on the Booysens site.
- Monitor and assess staff work performance and training requirements.
- Upkeep of calibration, validation and load test certificates.
- Upkeep of fire equipment and systems.
- Draft and adhere to the equipment maintenance programme.
- Carry out OSH Act GMR 2 appointment.

**What do you need to bring?**:

- Grade 12.
- N5/N6 Technical qualification.
- Qualified Millwright/Fitter.
- 5 years similar experience in an engineering environment
- At least 3 years people management experience in an engineering / manufacturing environment
- Experience in disciplinary procedures (Labour Relations).
- Computer literacy (MS Word/Excel/Outlook).
- HIRA Qualifications (Hira, Incident Investigation, Legal Liability, Osh Act)
- Ability to read drawings, both electrical and mechanical.
- GMR 2 Qualification
- Working at Heights
- Ability to work with people at various levels from shop floor to senior management.
