Pharmaceutical Sales Representative - KZN

Pharmaceutical Sales Representative

(Territory Sales Manager - Soflens (Pty) Ltd.)

Bausch + Lomb is seeking an individual for the position of a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative - Specialist HCP, Optometrists and GP’s, for a permanent position in the Sales Force department.

**Purpose of the job**:
Responsible for the development and maintenance of sales in a specific territory, for specific accounts, for the Pharma and Vision Care portfolios. Has a defined sales target to achieve and operates within the established policy guidelines.

**Territory of the job**:
KwaZulu-Natal and Newcastle, Vryheid Country trip

**Minimum requirements**:
Matric

Minimum of 3 years sales representative experience in the private healthcare sector of South Africa, calling on various market segments (e.g. Specialists, GPs, Pharmacy, etc.)

A valid driver’s license; as travel within the region is expected

Proven record of success in sales, territory management, and personal work habits.

**Advantages**:
Tertiary qualification in science or equivalent.

Experience specific to the nature of the role (i.e. Ophthalmic, Dermatology, etc.)

**Key Performance Areas**:
Plan and implement the activities that are necessary for the realisation of the individual territory target, on a periodical and annual base

Comply with all the requirements of and utilise the customer management system (Repwise) to effectively target, grade and maintain all customer related activities in the individual territory

Detail targeted customers and utilise selling skills that has maximum potential/positive effects on sales

Undertake country trips as required

Attend industry meetings, conferences and trade displays as required

Closely follow all competitor activities and present relevant observations meaningfully to the marketing department

Effectively utilise allocated marketing spend to access, support and grow key customers in the individual territory

Regarding the daily, weekly activities, preparing the necessary reports and submitting them to related Sales, Marketing and Finance Departments in a correct and timely manner

Be proactive and use personal insights and initiatives, where relevant and in consultation with your sales manager and/or marketing department, to develop customers, grow sales and achieve targets in your individual territory and for the business as a whole

**Skills requirements**:
Proficient in English (written and spoken)

Intermediate to expert level of knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs

Knowledge of the territory

Understand relationships with key customer base or knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and competitor landscape

Expert level of knowledge of the sales process (i.e. selling skills) and key customer targeting and territory management, with or without relevant industry data sets (i.e. Impact Rx, Repwise, SSD, etc.)

Strong social & communications skills to successfully tackle problems and communicate issues and scenarios company wide

Demonstrates open and candid dialogue in the interest of the business

Innovative attitude to support continuous improvement initiatives

Ability to work independently on an established agenda as well as a team player
