Grand Central Airport, based in Midrand, Gauteng, is seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Assistant / Storeman to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in handyman work, facility maintenance, and inventory control.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Perform general handyman duties including basic electrical, plumbing, and building repairs.
- Assist with fault finding and routine maintenance of facilities and equipment.
- Manage inventory control processes and maintain accurate stock records.
- Operate and maintain inventory control systems.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of hardware, building materials, and artisan tools.
- Collaborate with facilities management team on stock control.
- Support compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store and workspaces.
**Key Competencies**:
- Practical knowledge of hardware, building materials, and artisan tools.
- Strong command of English (verbal and written)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Completed handyman and/or inventory control courses will be advantageous.
- 3+ years experience in facility maintenance or handyman work
- 3+ years experience with inventory control and inventory systems.
- Good knowledge on the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Exposure to the aviation industry will be an advantage.
