**purpose**:
To develop and maintain architectural frameworks, standards, roadmap and patterns for a Capability, Customer Segment or Product Pillar that will guide the development of new capabilities and solutions and govern the implementation thereof to ensure a consistent realisation of the business, information and technology strategies in alignment with the overall FirstRand platform strategy and architecture

**experience and qualifications**:

- Minimum Qualification - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information’s Systems, Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis or related field
- Preferred Qualification - Post graduate qualification
- Experience - 5 to 8 years’ experience in a similar environment, of which 2 to 3 years ideally at specialist level
- Additional Knowledge - Extensive experience planning and deploying, both business and Information Technology initiatives and modelling business concepts using a variety of tools and techniques

- **additional requirements**:

- Unpacking and defining the card capabilities in the context of the card business landscape, the transact + unsecured lend capability landscape, the broader FRB capability landscape (200+). Identify and unpack those external capabilities from our strategic partners / networks that the card capabilities leverage and how the various internal and external capabilities required are leveraged to deliver on the card business strategy.
- Working with card business and the respective capability business owners (internal and external to card/FRB) to define the appropriate capabilities (incl. business capability role / function) to be leveraged in order to realise the desired end to end business solutions. Collaborate and consult with the IT architects on these capability views.
- Consulting to and advising the delivery / project teams on how the various FRG capabilities are appropriately leveraged to realise the desired business solution, drawing on network of capability leads & architects to help define the business solution and where accountability for the delivery of the solution components reside (impacts).
- Building and maintaining relationships with the FRB capability leads and architects ensuring collaboration on the evolution of card and broader FRB capabilities. In addition, build and maintain relationships with external strategic partners in order to collaborate and articulate external capabilities leveraged in the end to end business solution.
- Build and maintain a repository / body of knowledge of card business architecture artifacts, such as capability definitions, capability mapping and capability positioning in the broader context of FRB capability + strategic partner landscape. Contributing to the broader FRB capability body of knowledge.
- Tracking and influencing (with a card perspective) the maturing of the various FRB capabilities required to deliver card strategy, leveraging the support of senior business and IT stakeholders where required.
- Act as liaison conveying information needs of the business to Information Technology, and data constraints to the business with equal conveyance regarding business strategy and Information Technology strategy
- Provide business help and guidance and provide motivation to the technology team and support
- Act as an agent for change using business architecture to agitate, initiate action and challenge others via business designs and solutions, which drive requirements to the business operational architecture
- Use model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business
- Visualise and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture
- Assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings and articulate collective relevance to the organisation and to high-priority business issues
