Technical Advisor/ Jnr Project Manager

OneWorld Sustainable Investments (OneWorld) operates across Africa and is based in South Africa. OneWorld currently seeks to employ a technical advisor (with a minimum of 5 years’ experience) and/or a Jnr Project Manager (with a minimum of 3 years experience) to manage and coordinate projects, interface with funders, manage client and partner relationships, and contribute to the growth of the business.

Our clients and beneficiaries include Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), Climate Funds, International Cooperation Partners (ICPs) and Governments in donor countries, as well as private sector organisations. We work at global, continental, regional, national and sub-national levels, working with transboundary institutions such as River Basin Organisations, global, continental, and regional and national DFIs, as well as political, economic and trade communities and climate negotiation blocs in developing countries. We work at a science-policy-development interface and provide technical and policy advisory services to our clients and beneficiaries.

**Job Purpose**

The technical advisor/jnr project manager will primarily manage and co-ordinate projects, conduct research, compile reports, engage with stakeholders as well as assist in proposal development.

**Reporting and Management Structure**

The technical advisor will report to the OneWorld management team, working with multi-disciplinary teams, researchers, external associates, project managers/coordinators, and junior technical advisors.

**Primary Responsibilities**
The technical advisor will be required to:

- Co-manage and contribute to the development of OneWorld projects
- Contribute to OneWorld’s business development processes including client and partner relationships, proposal development and project finance planning
- Interface with government policy makers, funding agencies, and partner consulting firms
- Undertake research, analyse findings, write reports, and provide policy recommendations
- Regularly facilitate or co-facilitate project workshops
- Lead/manage stakeholder engagement and participatory analysis processes
- Present at meetings, conferences, and publish research outputs
- Provide thought leadership to OneWorld’s thematic activities

**Requirements**:
This position is office-based, in Cape Town.

The following minimum qualifications and skills set requirements apply:

- A Masters qualification in Development Studies/Economic Development, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Natural Resources Management, Climate Change, Renewable Energy/Energy Transitions or a related discipline.
- Proven track record in some of the following areas - development, climate change and resilience, climate/sustainable finance, renewable energy, nature-based solutions, water resource security and management, institutional development, gender and youth mainstreaming, policy/policy review, and governance
- Proven experience in delivery of projects
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with ability to relay technical concepts and research in an easily understandable and relevant manner

**Remuneration **for this position will be market based and calculated on a cost to company basis.
