**Competencies, Roles & Responsibilities**

**Supervision of resources including staff.**

**Management of the transport function**:

- Manage and achieve cost efficiencies and pricing.
- comparative cost models of internal costs v external costs of transport management.
- Forecast of monthly transport costs.
- Monitor and manage transport risks.
- Manage vehicle maintenance.
- Manage forklift utilisation and contacts in the event of breakdowns.

**Warehouse Management**:

- Manage stock cycle counts and quarterly stock takes for all sites simultaneously.
- Track and control aged and expired stock.
- Standardisation of warehouse systems and processes across all sites.
- Implementation and management of stock systems ensuring appropriate stock movement controls are in place.
- Experience with barcoding and scanning an advantage.
- Ensure adherence to ISO9000 and 14001 policies and procedures.
- Manage and monitor SHEQ performance for all areas under your control.

**Administration**:

- Ensure all costs are controlled, variances highlighted, and over-expenditure planned.
- Negotiate with suppliers/manufacturers/retailers for logistics providers and inbound supply of raw materials.
- Manage the annual budget for the transport and warehouse function.
- Inherent Requirements

**Qualifications**:

- Matric and Degree in Supply Chain and/or Logistics

**Experience**:

- 10 years in the logistics/supply chain field with 5 years staff management. Experience in chemical manufacturing environment advantageous.
