A Payments Solutions Company based in Sandton seeks the services of a Network Specialist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field to start asap.

- Strong technical support skills, excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills are required.
- Knowledge of internal computer systems.
- Promote an ecosystem conducive to continuous improvement.
- Deal with connectivity issues in War Room type scenarios and provide root cause.
- Proactively manage IT and network components to prevent incidents.

**Main duties or tasks of the employee:
- Troubleshoot network, software, and operating system issues in a distributed network environment.
- Repair, upgrade and configure desktop computers and various office peripherals.
- Ensure that all support tickets are dealt with and resolved.
- Executing all IT related projects as assigned by Team Leader.
- Troubleshoot technical problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via work order) in a professional, timely and accurate manner.
- Upgrading and replacing network hardware.
- Administration of change management processes: adherence and logging of network incident and change activities as may be required.
- Perform server patch maintenance, system and server backups and data archiving.
- Implement and maintain systems to protect the company from viruses and hackers.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrade of IT infrastructure.
- Ensure regular backup operations are maintained and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.

**Skills, Qualifications and Quantities**
- Experience with Firewalls - Fortigate, Servers - HP and Dell, VM Ware, Routers and Switches, Windows: Security Patch Management, OS, and SQL Server.
- IT Diploma or relevant qualification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of the dynamics of ITSM and ITIL processes.
- Intermediate to Advanced level of IT networking.
- Support and troubleshooting of network devices.
- Routing protocols, Firewalls, Network Monitoring, Troubleshooting and Switching.

**System Experience:
- MS Office 365, including Teams.
- ESET.
- Mimecast.
- Event Log Analyzer.
- VMware, Virtualization.
- Active Directory.
- FortiGate Fabric.
- Event Log Analyzer.
