**_ OVERALL PURPOSE_**

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our Azure-based databases. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems while collaborating with development and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality.

**Responsibilities will include (but is not limited to)**:

- Database Management: Design, install, configure, and maintain Azure SQL databases and other database services.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor database performance and optimize query execution, indexing, and storage configurations to ensure optimal operation.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard data against unauthorized access and breaches.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve database-related issues and performance bottlenecks efficiently.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and changes.
- Upgrades and Migrations: Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations with mínimal downtime and impact on users.
- Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts for routine database maintenance tasks.

**THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- 6+ years experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
- Experience in Azure cloud environment preferred
- Proficiency in T-SQL and database scripting.
- Relational DB experience, preferably MSSQL & Postgres
- Knowledge of database security practices and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
