Negotiates favourable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing Disciplines
- Develop and Implement the Procurement process and policies
- Plan for capacity and capability with the supplier community through co-ordination with internal teams; Infrastructure, Product Categories and Production, to effectively meet forward demand over multiple time periods and budgetary requirements.
- Effective Category Management will be important to ensure optimum value is being achieved on the use of data analytics within the business including targets to deliver whole life cost improvements.

- Manage supplier performance and support the day-to-day activity ensuring availability along with daily issue resolution
- Contribute to on-going continuous improvement activities, identifying improvement activity and process improvements

- A solution-oriented approach - looking for opportunities and finding new ways of overcoming problems
- E-Auction Strategies & Implementations
- Shift the decentralized procurement function to a centralized function
- Responsible for the governance and audit fulfillment of the function.
- Drive B-BBEE compliance and supplier information integrity always;
- Provide monthly insights into key risk and preferential procurement requirements;
- Influence supplier selection processes across multiple categories, internal teams, and regions, to create longer-term supplier selection strategies for South African procurement requirements;
- Develop and manage mechanisms and metrics to track and monitor supplier performance in relation to B-BBEE requirements;
- Develop and manage mechanisms and metrics to recruit and select ESD beneficiaries at agreed intervals for the ESD Program;
- Develop and implement the ESD strategy, processes and methodologies to enable an effective risk and governance and preferential procurement strategic plan;
- Lead business reviews to discuss best practices and issues and to ultimately improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships;
- Provide support throughout the contracting process, as well as management of contracts post-execution.
