Hydraulic Technician

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of mechanical moving parts (chains, bearings, and rollers)
- Day-to-day inspections and maintenance of plant Equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on facility systems and equipment.
- Must be able to use hand tools daily such as power tools (hand grinders, saws, impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers, welding machines)
- Ability to recognize safety hazards, develop solutions, then follow up to make sure hazards are addressed
- Follow Company and Governmental Safety and Environmental regulations
- Performs preventative maintenance on all minor and major pieces of equipment related to production/facilities
- Inspections on safety equipment
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and consumable parts for equipment
- Identify existing and potential operational problems and efficiencies
- Using testing equipment to diagnose, repair and maintain fluid power components and systems
- Fault diagnosing and preforming operational maintenance, overhauling, repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
- Diagnose and recommend solutions to fluid power and engineering problems
- Accurately and effectively identify and repair fluid power components such as pumps, cylinders, valves, reservoirs, motors, accumulators, hose fittings and filters
- Safely, effectively and accurately perform all types of maintenance on fluid power equipment to a high standard
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Training in hydraulics systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- N6 degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Trade test certificate in Fitting & Turning required.
- 5 years of related experience preferred.

Contract length: 60 months
**Salary**: R45,000.00 - R55,000.00 per month
