Procurement Manager

We are looking for an experienced Procurement Mnanager who will ensure procurement of raw materials, semi-finished products, packaging material, consumption material and services in order to meet company needs, optimizing purchases from a qualitative, quantitative, economic and financial perspective.
**Responsibilities**:
- Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed in cooperation with Product Managers, Operations and Sales implementing the defined strategy related to stock levels
- Manage and process requisitions and purchase orders for materials, supplies and equipment.
- Enters order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal database
- Tracking of orders and ensures delivery as per business requirements
- Maintain records of goods ordered and received, ensuring appropriate min-max level are available for all items
- Analyze delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability from suppliers
- Identify vendors of materials, equipment and supplies, and interview them to determine product availability.
- Review, evaluate, and conduct negotiations on tenders and bids once the specification is received
- Represent the company in negotiating contracts and drafting policies with suppliers.
- Account for the purchasing department’s budget in monthly report to management and stakeholders
- Review supplier claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, as well as claims against suppliers.
- Develop and implement purchasing management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
- Prepare bid awards to be approved by the General Manager.
- Administer the on-line purchasing systems such as AS400.
- Research, compares and evaluates offers from potential vendors and suppliers. Then negotiates terms and conditions of the agreement to the benefit of the company.
- Aligns to strategic business plan and annual budget by making alternative proposals for purchasing.
- Responsible for the company’s vehicle lease management ensuring that the objectives are met
- Relay and advise on all invoicing and costs to finance
- Manage and coordinate the purchasing team and identify areas for development
- Meeting purchase sales requirements of stock to non-stock items
- Month-end reports on all purchases with the breakdown of analysis of imports versus local materials, with costs analyses
- Responsible for the procurement B-BBEE element ensuring vendors complete the required documentation and the B-BBEE certificates are valid
- Assures periodic reporting and promptly informs the Headquarters in case of any change and update. Works in cooperation with Central Purchasing which provides guidelines, operative and specialist instructions
- Follows and implements Corporate policies and procedures, while performing their activities.
**Qualification**:
- NQF level 5 or higher in Procurement or related qualification
- 5 years’ experience in the field of Procurement and Purchasing
- 2 years Middle Management experience
