Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

Develop and implement effective “cost-out” strategies, develop and deliver Procurement strategy across Joy Global Africa.
Deliver on targeted benefits and financial savings and engage and support to obtain agreement on the strategy from key stakeholders so that implementation and compliance are optimal.
Promote the effective management of suppliers to sustain value throughout the life of the contract
Establish new processes and systems for effective procurement across Joy Global Africa;
Develop and maintain documented standards for the procurement processes which will result in minimizing procurement risks;
Implement BBBEE framework regarding spend and take full ownership of the enterprise & supplier development scorecard element; and
Develop and execute Sourcing Strategies within the business, advise and guide the process to the best-fit approach.

Minimum Skills required

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management / Procurement or related field,
Membership of The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS);
At least 5-8 years’ experience working as a Procurement Manager at senior management level;
A Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in procurement, in industrial manufacturing/mining or engineering environment;
Proven experience in leading teams and developing employees;
In-depth knowledge of Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) computation and reporting;
Working knowledge of Legal Contracts Drafting and Management;
Preferred applied experience in manufacturing, procurement, warehousing, logistics, production, materials planning & scheduling, JIT Procurement, etc.
Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to act as project lead in the development and implementation of projects;
Extensive SAP/R3 experience and advanced level of proficiency in MS Office suite; and
Must have driver’s license and own reliable transport.

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with team members and associates;
Ability to project manage, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines; and
Strong ethical conduct.
