Primary purpose of the job

Ensure that suitable suppliers are selected for products and services to the Company in terms of predetermined criteria Securing and analysis of RFQ's, Quotations and negotiating of prices and terms.

Key Performance Areas

1. Purchasing of commodities, services and address technical queries

2. Control, develop and monitor suppliers

3. Ensure continuity of supply for area of responsibility

4. Ensure Commercial & Legal Compliance

S. Take into account price, quality and delivery

6. Address technical queries during procurement and quotation process

7. Ensure Quality Assurance of materials, parts or products are adhered to during procurement processes

8. Evaluation and selection of suppliers

Knowledge required

1. Sound knowledge and understanding of technical concepts and quality systems

2. Sound knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes

3. Sound knowledge and understanding of budget control

4. Sound knowledge and understanding of customer requirements and supplier evaluation

5. Sound knowledge to technical specifications

Skills required

1. Sound computer literacy

2. Communication and interpersonal relations

3. Negotiating and problem solving

4. Decision making

5. Representative and Managerial skills (interaction with supplier management)

6. Interviewing skills

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

Required GR12

Diploma in Purchasing or Equivalent Navision

Min. 5 years purchasing experience

Technical knowledge of automotive manufacturing industry

Min. 2 year costing / estimating experience
