Structural Engineering Ii

+ Develop and prepare structural designs for industrial and commercial buildings.

+ Manage a design team and liaise with other professional team members and contractors.

+ Take responsibility for structural design and drawings.

+ Attend planning, design and site meetings, and ad-hoc site inspections.

+ Assist with compilation of bids and proposals.

+ Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced staff, engineers, and designers to increase technical competence, as well as knowledge of systems and procedures.

+ Undertake technical reviews / audits to ensure that designs are in accordance with project / study requirements and company objectives and are produced in a timely and cost-effective manner.

+ To work in a safe manner, complying with and actively contributing to the company Health, Safety and Environmental HSE policies, manuals, and procedures.

+ Work to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in structural documentation

+ Promote compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activities

+ Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports, within areas of expertise

**Software**:
+ Tekla Structural Designer

+ Etabs

+ Robot

+ Prokon;
+ Revit;
**Design experience**:
+ Must have substantial experience in the design of reinforced concrete and structural steel buildings

+ Finite element design of concrete structures, specifically flat slab design

+ Experience in leading a design team, including resource planning and design time frame estimates

+ Ability to function with mínimal supervision

+ Ability to delegate tasks and effectively supervise others

Minimum Requirements

+ Minimum 4-6 years’ relevant experience.

+ Professional registration with ECSA or similar would be advantageous.

+ Solid knowledge and understanding of structural analysis software like Tekla Structural Designer / Etabs / Robot / Prokon

+ Revit Structures knowledge will be advantageous

+ Technical Competence - in terms of core engineering theory from first principles and ability to extend theory to new and complex problems
