The Southern Regional Operations Manager is accountable for and ensures that his / her responsible Business meet operational targets and customer expectations in a timely and effective manner while observing corporate quality, environmental, Health & Safety requirements.
The Southern Regional Operations Manager is directly responsible for P&L management of the Business with a view to ensuring that target budgets are met or exceeded.
The Southern Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for all activities within Free State, Kwazulu-Natal as well as the affiliate named SGS-Matrocast servicing in Eastern and Western Cape Provinces.
**Job Description**:
- The Southern Regional Operations Manager is accountable for ensuring that all aspects of his / her Industries & Environment operations are managed within the required protocols in line with efficiency, QHSE, financial, Internal Integrity & Compliance objectives
- Maintaining a full communication channel to the Industries & Environment Business Manager to ensure that he / she is kept current and informed on all aspects that have any direct or indirect impact on:
- Environment, Health and Safety (prevents accidents, incidents, perceived or actual H&S concerns)
- Compliance to internal, local and provincial Environmental regulations
- Quality (Client complaints, data, personnel performance, turnaround, equipment)
- Client Satisfaction (meeting external and internal customer expectations from a service, quality and turnaround perspective)
- Human Resource related issues of any kind
- Commercial and Financial Performance of Industries & Environment division
- Accountable for ensuring that his / her reporting managers are adhering to all relevant codes of conduct, regulation and law in line with the enforcement of all regulations as per the Company Health and Safety Manual, and the immediate reporting of any health, safety or environmental incidents, accidents or concerns to the Business Manager.
- Complies and ensures that all work follows quality systems and that quality targets are maintained within the Industries & Environment operations.
- Accountable for ensuring that the quality of data, current methodologies and the execution of the methods are in compliance with the Industries & Environment quality systems and accreditations.-
- Accountable for ensuring that appropriate and planned training program is executed and measured for the personnel under direction at the various Industries & Environment sites.
- Accountable for familiarizing oneself with the Quality Manual and ensuring appropriate documentation is current and reliable
- Accountable for the measurement of Client Satisfaction- Monitors quality and service execution of his / her operations on regular basis with reporting managers with recommendations to amend where required
- Ensure that his / her Business manage their resources to attain optimum production and cost effectiveness
- Maintains performance targets at the various operational Sites and takes proactive measures with the relevant reporting managers to sustain these targets
- Provides authoritative opinions in their area of expertise and finds new and innovative ways of improving production efficiencies
- Works toward continuous improvement in service execution and efficiency, delivery of quality data promptly adhering to predetermined schedules
- Implement, maintain and evaluate Customer satisfaction records
- Responsible for the overall financial management of his / her Business with special emphasis on:
- Adhering strictly to annual budgets and plans accordingly.
- Monthly financial performance review with the Business Manager, and implementing plans of action where needs be to ensure financial budgets are met.
- Constant review of YTD and prior YTD performance with the Financial Coordinator, Business Manager and Regional Financial Controller, with emphasis on plans of action to ensure financial targets are met.
- Ensuring that his / her Business are fully utilized, and overseeing the movement of projects to ensure full utilization of all Sites.
- Reviews Cap-Ex requisitions prior to submitting to the Business Manager.
**Financial Targets**:
- Regional Manager is responsible to reach all financial targets set which includes revenue & profit.
- Regional Managers are required to ensure that all invoices are done and submitted correctly and timeously.
- Regional Managers are to monitor debtors and contact all clients who fall behind with payments, exceeding 60 days.
- Regional Managers are to send the financial forecast of the new month to the Business Controller within the week of the new month.
