Peach Payments is a fast growing Pan-African PSP that makes online commerce and digital payment acceptance easier and more accessible across all Africa. We work with small and large sellers to provide a complete toolkit to accept, manage and disburse payments through web and mobile.
Our merchant partners include your favourite food delivery services, whether you’re ordering in or using a meal kit, travel services that can help you book your next getaway adventure and even your neighbour’s side-hustle e-commerce store.
For these partners and their customers, we aim to provide delightful experiences that make it as easy as possible to facilitate online payments.
**Why we’re hiring for this role**
Following our recent Series A funding, we’re looking to further grow our leadership team with a Head of People. The Head of People will lead a team of People Business Partners to support Peach as we scale and grow in Africa. The Head of People will create and drive the People Strategy alongside our business strategy to reach our ambitious growth targets and ensure our teams are supported and aligned to do so.
**Your mission if you choose to accept it**
- Influence strategic decision-making in regards to local people strategy including organizational culture and succession planning
- Create and execute our People Strategy that is fully aligned to our broader Peach strategy
- Lead the delivery of the People calendar, including performance reviews, new employee onboarding, headcount planning and internal mobility
- Create and advocate for policies that are clear to our growing and multi-national business
- Supporting and advising the business on various People-related aspects like escalations, complaints, recruitment and L&D
- Report to the investors on RemCo decisions and create fair structures for remuneration and mobility
- Oversee the implementation and management of reward and recognition programmes to attract, retain and motivate staff whilst ensuring internal equity and external competitiveness
- Remain abreast of statutory requirements and industry best practices relating to labour law across all countries that we operate in
- Focus various business areas to realize their potential and drive performance
**What we'd like you to have**
- 15+ years of progressive professional experience; of which 5+ years are managing People Teams
- An ability to thrive in a high-pace environment; in one single day you may engage with a labour lawyer, prepare for an upcoming RemCo meeting with investors, liaise with our marketing team on an upcoming blog post, review an updated L&D curriculum, all while keeping the People team motivated and focused
- Experience working in a scale-up where teams are working all over the world; experience working with teams beyond South Africa is advantageous
- Experience with all aspects of the People function and not just specific verticals; you are an expert in recruitment as well as L&D and Labour Law and Wellness
- Strong planning, communication and stakeholder engagement skills

We currently have a hybrid working model, which means that while our teams predominantly work outside of the office, we may ask them to join for in-office Meet-ups, gatherings, training and other collaboration sessions in-person, wherever possible.
